My Movie Rating System

Scoring based of 4 Categories:
Plot/Originality
Acting/Characters
Dialouge/Screenplay
Effects/Camerawork

I think this is a fair criteria to rate movies on. Each is based out of 100, then I divide by four hundred. So if plot
was - 92, Acting was 75, Screenplay was - 88, and Camerawork was 56, the average would be 78% (rounded
up). From there, there are 4 "ratings" based on my expectations for it:

Below - Below my expectations, a movie that just does not add up for me. Somewhere in the 0-60% range.
This might seem dramatic, but I don't see myself caring about the difference between a movie I "don't like",
think is "bad", and "hate".

Met - These movies "met" my expectations. Movies that are worth seeing at least once, have some great
ideas, or I consider good. You could also call them "above average". Somewhere in the 61-79% range.

Exceeded - These movies exceeded my expectations and I think they are great. I'll definitely buy these
movies when they come out on video. Sometimes these movies can be overrated, but they are still great in
anyway that counts. Somewhere in the 80-91% range.

Blew - These movies blew my expectations! Good enough to go in my Supreme Cinema section, a
masterpiece any way you look at it. Somewhere in the 92-100% range.

I'm really trying to do something different, which is why I made this up and didn't go with the traditional 4 or 5
star system. One might say, " well just what are your expectations?". To that I would simply say, "Just like
yours - I expect to be entertained, I expect to be moved emotionally, I expect a good movie for my money."
Sometimes if I am expecting crap, it is easier to exceed expectations or if a movie is hyped up, vise versa. Well
yeah, but still it is all very relative and people's tastes are so fragile anyway that I have to always go with my
own gut feelings.

Oh, and
do not expect reviews of everything movie-wise. Crap and blockbusters are out for the most part
(unless I was talked into seeing it, sometimes bad movies can make other refreshing). I don't have the time or
the money to waste on shit. ) Also, foreign films take waaayyyyyy longer for me to see because they are not
readily available. I'm just getting into older foreign films too so bare with me.

I hope this all makes sense. If you think this is too confounding just email me at Demander77@aol.com and I'll
see what I can do to improve.
